Hi everyone,
In March/April 2014, I will be undertaking a trek to Everest Base Camp in Nepal to raise money in support of the Mater Foundation.
A few years ago, I spent some time at a Mater Care Centre in South Brisbane. After witnessing some of the incredible work and dedication of the staff and volunteers at the centre, I am passionate about doing what I can to assist in ensuring this foundation receives the support required to continue to improve the lives of the less fortunate and maintain its investment in clinical research, education, equipment and mission activities at Mater Hospitals and research centres.
The trek to Everest Base Camp is an 18-day return trip and will include the ascent of a nearby peak reaching a maximum altitude of 5545m. I am excited about this trek for both the personal experience and the opportunity to give back to a cause I care about. To this end, I am seeking your support in raising funds for and awareness of the Mater Foundation.
